Terje and Pia, together with their delightful family and friends, flew over from Sweden for this exceptionally intimate wedding photography in London at the Radisson Blu Edwardian in Canary Wharf.
Although I hadn't met the couple prior to the day (a common factor when working for international clients) I really understood what they were looking for in their wedding photography. It was critical to capture the strong bond between the couple and their adorable toddler. This short commission (just 4 hours) was a very personal snapshot into their lives and I feel truly privileged to have been given the responsibility of documenting these significant few hours for all involved.
The wedding venue, the Radisson Blu Edwardian, is spectacular. I've worked there on previous occasions and the combination of clever architecture, art, an array of glass panels and captivating natural light which enhances clever angles, lines, reflections and geometry, make this a particularly unique location for London wedding photography and one that I am especially fond of.
I worked alone during this wedding - somewhat of a rarity nowadays. However, it was one of the rare occasions where two wedding photographers, albeit discreet ones, would have tipped the balance between accepted observer and uncomfortable overkill. There's a fine line and for me, photography shouldn't have any impact on the genuine atmosphere of someone's day, resulting images, therefore, are much more personal, imperfect and believable.
Here are just a few of my favourites from this emotional little day.
